A perspective for the way to the future products

Berliner Kreis - Wissenschaftliches Forum für Produktentwicklung e.V. is a competence network to enhance product innovation in mechanical engineering and cognate industries, such as the automotive industry and medicine technology. More than 30 professors are members of the Berliner Kreis. The forum was set up in 1993, founding members were Prof. Beitz, Prof. Grabowski, Prof. Krause and Prof. Spur et al. The former three members have been previous presidents.

Communication and Cooperation between Universities and Industry

The Berliner Kreis practices a special and effective way of cooperation between industry and science. Its aim is to stimulate the development of new products and make them ready for the market. The body of this model is the collaboration between the Berliner Kreis and its associated industry circuit. More than 40 industrial leading persons from famous German companies belong to this circuit.

About 500 scientific assistants research and work on methods, tools and technologies for product development in the Berliner Kreis institutes. The Berliner Kreis Competence Network (BKKN) was established to realize the transfer of the know-how, gained in research, into the industry. This is a further supply of the Berliner Kreis to the industry.
